Getting a tattoo is a statement and can really help to enhance your appearance. However, there are lots of different types of tattoos that help boost your bodily aesthetic, rather than symbolise something.
Tattoos are a great way to show off your personality, your thoughts and opinions, your memories and past and your background. However, they can also be useful in enhancing parts of your face that you aren’t particularly pleased with.
For example, many people who have fair or no eyebrows get them tattooed on – they really are the eyebrow you can’t take back. Just like getting any facial tattoo, tattooed eyebrows are a big deal and it’s important to do your research into what shape and colour you like before you get them done. Tattooed eyebrows do, however, save a lot of time for those who spend hours trying to get the curve of their brow bone right, or sit filling in the gaps in their eyebrows every morning. They will need touching up every couple of months as the tattoo begins to fade, but they are a great alternative to day-to-day maintenance.
Freckles are in, and for those who do not have naturally occurring facial freckles, then you can get a couple tattooed on! Like tattooed eyebrows, they won’t last forever, but could be on your face for up to three years. When first done they will tend to swell, but soon enough the swelling will go down and you’ll be left with sun-kissed skin. However, tattooed freckles are a daring choice as they still count as a facial tattoo and you won’t be able to wear any make-up until they heal properly. You should plan the design to perfection and make sure every freckle is in a place you want it to be.
Another new cosmetic tattoo on the block, is thin eyeliner tattoo which gives the illusion of thicker and more full eyelashes. It is a great alternative for individuals who hate the effort of putting on make-up as tattooed eyeliner eliminates the need for normal, liquid eyeliner and fake eyelashes.
For all those with fairer hair at the top, there is now a procedure which can tattoo ‘hair’ onto your scalp. The tattoos make it look like there are hair strands in the spots where your hair isn’t as thick to give the appearance of fuller hair. Having their hairline tattooed is not for the faint-hearted as it takes hours at a time and is often spread over multiple sessions.
Tattooed LipsFor those who don’t want to go through all the hassle of lip fillers, a great alternative is to get your pout tattooed. A lip tint/tattoo gives the illusion of fuller lips by matching the colour of your natural lips, then using different hues to create dimension and a more complete pout. As you can imagine, the lips are an insanely sensitive area and having them tattooed can be extremely painful. Tattooed lips can last for up to five years but will also have to be retouched every now and again.
